Illinois' Ohio River Outfitters offers trophy whitetail hunting  in the heart of Illinois deer hunting country.  We are located on the banks of the Ohio River in  Southeastern Illinois.  We have  practiced Quality Deer Management on our properties since we began outfitting back in 1998.  Our Illinois whitetail service was the first in our area to manage for world class whitetails and the time and effort put into managing for these trophy class deer has paid off.

 A Highly Nutritional Food Source of  Mossy Oak Biologic blends, corn, soybeans, alfalfa, clover, and acorns provide the nutrients whitetails need to reach trophy class standards on our farms.  This diverse food source intermixed with the rolling hardwood ridges make our properties some of the best whitetail habitat in the U.S.   Our properties are 65% hardwoods and river bottoms, with the other 35% in agricultural fields, CRP, and high nutritional food plots.  We take pride in our family owned property and know that the key to growing these monster bucks has four factors: great food, great habitat, great genetics, and great age structure. 

Outfitting along the Ohio River System  gives us an opportunity to draw in the elusive river bottom bucks that travel the Ohio and its major tributaries.  These bucks can travel for miles down the river during the rut and end up on our farms where they find an abundance of food, cover, and low hunting pressure.  Are farms have designated deer sanctuaries that we only go in to retrieve buck kills, no doe hunting is allowed around the sanctuaries.    This gives bucks a safe haven where they can bed down without any human intrusion.   These sanctuaries are the key to holding big mature deer on our farms.    As a result of these sanctuaries, many of the bigger deer taken by our clients have never been seen by any of our staff , clients, or Cuddeback trail cameras.  That is the great thing about hunting along such a big river, you never know what will show up while you are in the stand.  Several of our farms are dissected with large creeks that bucks also use as natural travel routes. It is no secret that the NEW HOT SPOT for hunting trophy whitetails is along the Ohio River corridor from Southern Ohio down to Southern Illinois.  This area along the Ohio River has produced some of the biggest whitetails taken in the last few years.   Hunting these Illinois Whitetails along this massive river system is unparalleled because it is a natural travel corridor for bucks traveling during the rut.

To ensure our guest a Quality Hunting Experience we limit hunter numbers.  We specialize in 5.5-Day hunting packages that include, Guides, Meals, Lodging, Field Transportation, Pre-Hung Stands, and Trophy Care.  Guides take you to and from your stand location at your request.  We do not sit in the stand with you during your hunt.  After the hunt guides will  field dress, weigh, and provide trophy care for your whitetail.  Processing can be done locally for a small fee or you may process your deer at the lodge.  Hunters usually quarter their deer and place it in our freezers, then they  take it home in a cooler to have it processed.  Our guides work hard to give our hunters a safe, challenging, yet rewarding hunt.  If you are a serious hunter looking for an honest and professional Illinois Outfitter give us a call at (618) 201-6905.
