  Ohio River Outfitters offers trophy whitetail deer hunting in the heart of Illinois deer hunting country.  We are located in Southeastern Illinois along the Ohio River. Most of our deer hunts take place in Hardin County, which is considered to be Illinois' first and final frontier. A Quality Deer Management system has been in effect for the past 10 years. Our outfitting service was the first in the area to manage for world class whitetails. The time and effort put into managing for trophy class whitetails has more than paid off. That is why we offer the best chance to harvest a trophy class whitetail in the state of Illinois.
 

 

   An extremely nutritional food source of corn, soybeans, alfalfa, clover, and acorns along with numerous food plots, provide the nutrients whitetails need to reach trophy class standards. This diverse food source intermixed with the rolling hardwood ridges make our property some of the best whitetail habitat in the United States. Ohio River Outfitter property is roughly 65% hardwood ridges, river bottoms, and swamps with the other 35% in agricultural fields and high nutritional food plots.  We take pride in or family owned property and know that the key to growing monster bucks has four factors: good food, good habitat, good genetics, and good age structure. All four of these factors have been met on Ohio River Outfitter properties.

  During the second firearm season Billy Austin killed this 29 pt., 278" Gross Boone & Crockett whitetail. His monster buck was one of the highest scoring bucks harvested in Illinois   A whitetail of this caliber assures us that our properties are holding world class whitetails. Even more importantly our strict Quality Deer Management practices allow these bucks to reach maturity and pass on their world class genetics to future generations of deer.

    At Ohio River Outfitters we specialize in 3-5 day hunting packages. This includes guides, meals and lodging. Guides take you to and from your stand locations at your request. After the hunt, guides will field dress, weigh, and provide trophy care for your whitetail. Processing can be done locally for a small fee or you may process your deer at the lodge. Our guides work hard to give our hunters a safe, challenging, yet rewarding hunt.
